‘Year of the Frozen Dumpling’ with Fan Zhang

Fan Zhang's family came to America when he was 12. He read the dictionary and watched American television for a year with the hope that learning English could empower him to stand up for himself and his parents. Fan purchased Northern China Eatery in 2016 where his mom now prepares the best dumplings in Atlanta. At the start of the pandemic, patrons avoided Chinese restaurants, but Fan continues to battle Asian stereotypes while passionately serving authentic Chinese cuisine.
